The shuttle train to Barcelona El Prat Airport will be built in three years

The works on the shuttle train between Barcelona’s city center and the airport of Barcelona El Prat will began in April and ending in 2018, following the agreement between the Department of Territory and Sustainability of the Generalitat and the Ministry of Public Works that unlocks the stranded bidding due to rail access to the Port of Barcelona and after almost two years after the Catalan authorities submit the proposal to the Central Government.

As result of industrial action by air traffic controllers in Italy, there will be some disruption to our services to/from Italy on Tuesday 17 February from 13:00 until 17:00. The airlines have proactively re-timed some services to avoid the four-hour strike period, and have been forced to cancel a small number of flights.

Madrid will put out to tender the construction of an airport for business flights

The Councilor of the Presidency, Justice and Regional Government spokesman, Salvador Victoria, announced on last Thursday that it will put out to tender the construction of a private airport in El Álamo for business flights.

Victoria has indicated that the forecast opening of its first commercial aviation runway at El Alamo is due to the growth of passengers at the airport of Barajas and the economic growth in general.
